During my colour minor I had to conclude with 9 colours which had a good story related to myself. Whether they were rationally or intuitively chosen, as long as they had authentic arguments it didn’t matter. In an intense process like this you get very close to yourself and your deeply embedded fascinations. I found out that among these I had a great fascination for the relation between the decorative and the functional world. Funny thing is, that a lot of colours from both worlds are closely related to each other since it is a lot about getting attention. Garlands could as well be traffic signs and work clothing could as well be a party outfit.
During the minor we had a workshop with Canon in which we had the opportunity to print with their silkscreen printer. I made these visuals for the workshop which I then printed in different layers on plexiglass. The patterns were try-outs for optical mixtures. Also, I used one of my essays as a pattern because I like the fact that text can be content-wise and purely visual as well. Knowing that information is there, but cannot be seen by the naked eye.
